Last month, South Africans waited at OR Tambo International Airport in anticipation of the national U20 team's arrival from Egypt, where they won the Africa Cup of Nations.

Among the crowd, the family of Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Mfundo Vilakazi waited in excitement to see their superstar who was part of a team that made history.
Vilakazi has had some difficult moments with Amakhosi last season, but there is a lot to smile about now after winning a continental title. At the airport, Soccer Laduma's Tshepang Mailwane interviewed Vilakazi's mother, Lindiwe, about her son's historic achievement and his childhood experiences.
TM: How has he been able to deal with the difficult moments at Chiefs because there's been a lot of pressure?

Last weekend we saw Orlando Pirates make history by becoming the first Carling Knockout champions to beat the All-Stars team, after both Magesi FC and Stellenbosch FC failed to do so in the previous two seasons. Pirates were forced to play without several of their regulars as they are in camp in preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations. Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou's charges beat coach Manqoba Mngqithi's team 2-0 to be crowned champions, for the second time in a week. Congratulations to Bucs as they close the year on a high note.
