Community swimming pool to reopen after transformation

UPGRADED FACILITIES WILL BE AN ASSET FOR YEARS TO COME

ONE local swimming pool, in central Lincolnshire is just about to reopen to the public, looking more sparkling and accessible than ever.

Heckington Community Swimming Pool was established over 50 years ago by the parents of the children of Heckington primary school, eager to teach their youngsters to swim.

This mission remains central to the community pool, which is run by volunteers dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming environment for children, families, and the wider community.

Now a registered charity, the pool relies on entrance fees, fundraising, donations, and grants to sustain it.

Funds are generated not only through pool usage but also from a snack bar and light refreshments offered by the volunteers.

Last year was a successful season, and according to the team many families enjoyed the facility and thanks to generous donations and fundraising efforts, the pool committee was able to plan significant improvements.

Heckington St Andrews Primary School applied for a grant to help build an accessible toilet facility, enhancing accessibility for all.
