Today's Pension Credit figures show there were 47,500 successful applications between April and August 2025. Yesterday we found out that energy bills will be going up in October, so it is welcome news that more older people on low incomes will be see their incomes boosted before the winter.

On average, Pension Credit tops up income by over £4,000 a year, and opens the door to a variety of other social security entitlements including free NHS dental treatment, access to the Warm Home Discount and Housing Benefit to help with rent. We will continue to work with the UK Government to raise awareness of Pension Cred
