Torrential rain sparks flood alert for Scots

AN amber weather warning for heavy rain across north east and central Scotland has been issued by the Met Office.
Driving conditions could be hazardous
It says there is a “small chance” that homes and businesses could be flooded, with deep and fast-moving floodwaters “causing danger to life”.
The warning is in place from midnight until 6pm today across Angus, Perth and Kinross and Aberdeenshire.
The Met Office states: “Heavy rain is likely to cause some flooding and disruption on Thursday.”
A yellow three-day warning for rain is also in place until 11.59pm on Friday. It covers Clackmannanshire, Falkirk, Fife, Perth and Kinross, Stirling, Highlands, Eilean Siar, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray.
