Search for body parts after grim find on lochside
Scottish Daily Express
|September 16, 2025
POLICE divers have been scouring the waters of a Highland loch after the discovery of suspected human remains was made on a beachside path.
The grim find led to a section of Loch Lomond being sealed off by officers whilst inquiries continue. The discovery was made on Saturday lunchtime close to a trail on the west side of the loch near Firkin Point.
It has not been disclosed what the remains were or if they were contained within anything.
However, they have since been sent away to a mortuary to be examined by a pathologist.
Infamous
Last night, a Police Scotland spokesman said: "Inquiries are ongoing."
The path where the find was made is quite remote and is located on the west side of the loch.
However, it is also diagonally opposite the spot where one of Scotland’s most infamous crimes was revealed.
