THE RNID is urging people to get their ears tested due to the links between hearing loss and dementia.

“While age and genetics are the biggest factors we can’t change, other factors, including hearing loss are also associated with the condition,” says RNID CEO Harriet Oppenheimer. “Most people living with dementia or mild cognitive impairment (MCI) also live with hearing loss and other hearing conditions. As life expectancy increases, so too does the number of us living with both dementia and hearing loss.”
