CELTIC and Rangers have been battling it out for 78 years in the League Cup... and the Hoops have a narrow advantage.

- BY MARK WALKER

The Old Firm meet again tomorrow in the Premier Sports Cup at Hampden with Martin O'Neill locking horns with Danny Rohl for the first time.

The first meeting in this competition between them took place in 1947 - a year after the first League Cup in Scottish football.

The clash created a record because the 80,000 crowd at Ibrox on Saturday, August 8 was the biggest attendance at any British stadium on the opening day of a football season.
