CALLUM McGREGOR did something no one else has in the past few turbulent days at Celtic - he brought some unity, if only briefly.

- BY CRAIG SWAN

In an instant, he produced a moment of shared joy with the sheer brilliance of his stoppage-time wonder strike to sink St Mirren 1-0 in Paisley on Saturday night.

It didn't last long, though, and, within moments of the wild celebrations, chants of'sack the board’ were heard once again.

At the final whistle, McGregor led his fellow Hoops to the stand housing the away fans, just as he led them in the game. He seemed to calling for togetherness.

It's a difficult time for the club. The fan fury towards the board heightens day on day and a new manager has yet to be installed with interim Martin O'Neill and Shaun Maloney holding down the fort.

Fires may blaze around him, yet McGregor is the epitome of calm.

DIVING IN TO A NEW WAY OF LIFE

EVER dowsed for water? You know, where you walk slowly across open land, holding a bit of forked willow, or metal rods - or a pendulum, assuming you've one to hand - and trust it to tell you where there's underground water to be found.
