THE hottest day of the year so far is expected in days with temperatures likely to soar as high 28C (82F).
Many areas could see 24C or 25C by today with the mercury rising to a peak on Wednesday or Thursday, said the Met Office.
Almost everywhere will be sunny, with only northern Scotland seeing some rain.
