Free after having to dig own grave

A PRISONER forced to dig his own grave in a cramped tunnel deep under Gaza was among those to taste freedom after 738 days in captivity.

The sickening propaganda video of a skeletal-looking Evyatar David clutching a shovel horrified the world when it was released by Hamas in August.

The musician and restaurant worker, 24, who was kidnapped from the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023, told the camera he was surviving on meals of lentils and beans but had not eaten for days.

He added: “What I’m doing now is digging my own grave. Every day my body becomes weaker and weaker.

“I am walking directly to my grave. There is the grave I am going to be buried in.

“Time is running out to be released and be able to sleep in bed with my family.”
