Evil teacher's sentence probed by Crown Office

THE Crown Office plans to probe the decision not to send an evil teacher who abused young girls under her care to jail.

Patricia Robertson, 77, was found guilty of 18 charges of cruel and unnatural treatment of young children at an all-girls' residential school following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.

Between 1969 and 1984, she force-fed girls as young as six and battered them at Fornethy House in Kilry, Angus, but on Thursday she was spared jail. Instead she was placed on probation, involving being supervised for three years, and was ordered to pay £1,000 in compensation to each of her 18 victims.
