DOG owners injured while walking their pets on a lead could be costing the NHS £23million a year.
Experts investigating the “under-studied topic” say a rise in ownership of man’s best friend could spark more wrist and hand injuries.
A team from Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, and Singapore's Sengkang General Hospital reviewed nearly 500,000 cases among five US studies.
