WESTERN Province captain, Kyle Verreynne led from the front on Day Two of their penultimate Cricket South Africa Four-Day fixture against Boland Park at Newlands in Cape Town yesterday, bringing up his 14th First-Class century to help the hosts post a mammoth 592 runs in the first innings.

Verreynne, resuming on 61, smashed his way to 131 off 215 deliveries, a knock which saw the righthanded batter strike 16 fours to give Province total control.

His partner, David Bedingham (68), added only four runs to his overnight score, facing only 13 deliveries before he was undone by the experienced leg spinner Shaun von Berg.
