Roleplayers may step back from crime-fighting efforts

Some members of the taxi industry in Seshego have recently made public that they contemplate taking a step back from fighting crime in the community.

The chilling announcement for locals was said when the industry members were called to intervene with finding 30 young people said to be involved in gang rivalry and alleged local terrorism.

The gangs reportedly carry dangerous weapons at day and night, threaten safety and take people's belongings.

Seshego police spokesperson, Sgt Ali Maluleke said they were also made aware of a rival gang outburst at Bokamoso Secondary School, but no case was formally opened or complaint laid.

During a recent event at Seshego Stadium, people were robbed of their clothing items while others were injured and Lebogang Maruma who was working on the day was stabbed to death.
