MEC launches Transport Month programme

The MEC for Transport, Violet Mathye officially launched the October Transport Month programme last Thursday at the Namakgale Community Hall in Phalaborwa.
The launch outlined activities planned for the month, focusing on community participation, stakeholder engagement and road safety.
As part of the operation held during the launch, 350 vehicles were stopped, 31 fines were issued, and eight vehicles were impounded. One driver was arrested for operating an unroadworthy vehicle, while another was detained for exceeding the speed limit by 50km/h.
