Alex Gogic highlighted the importance of hard-fought wins after St Mirren's narrow Euro miss last season.

The Cypriot stalwart who was the stand-in skipper on Saturday as the Buddies beat Dundee 1-0 after Mark O'Hara and Marcus Fraser missed out through injury - says gaining the three points against a side like the Dark Blues means a lot more to the team than victory against a title-chasing side.

Killian Phillips' first-half goal was enough to seal the win, maintain the unbeaten run this season at the SMiSA Stadium and send Saints up to third in the Premiership.

And Gogic feels that, come the end of the season, a triumph like this could be the difference between heading off on another Euro adventure or not.
