A Linwood man who produced almost £4,000 worth of a Class B drug has been warned not to breach his court order - which is a "direct alternative" to a prison sentence.

William Figures escaped a jail term yesterday after admitting to producing cannabis at his Kintyre Avenue home.

Paisley Sheriff Court heard how the 39-year-old drug addict had been smoking cannabis since he was an 11-year-old and could consume as much as 8g in one day.

And when cops turned up at his house, Figures told them he would show officers around his property and tell them where he kept the drugs.
