"Nuneaton Swim Club started in the 1920s in Upper Abbey Street, Nuneaton and in the summer months moved up to the open air swimming pool in St Mary's Road - this pool was not only open air with outside changing cubicles it was round in design.

"Nuneaton has been the front runners in swimming throughout its history. Nuneaton SC created and organised the first Junior League Programme called the Nuneaton Diddy League this was a programme created a completion platform for younger swimmers starting age 7years to 12yrs, the founder members being Nuneaton SC, Leamington SC, Kingsbury SC, Rugby SC and Tamworth SC.

"Some of the names below we cannot forget, in the 1960s were the heart beat of the NBC namely Mr Stretton, Mr Merry, Mr Peg, Mr Pittim, Mrs & Mr Baxter, Mr Tex Warmington, and Mr Dennis Panther who was still competing in the Senior Leagues for NBSC when he was over 60 years of age.
