Historic meeting set to take place tonight

AN historic Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council meeting where the leader could be voted out takes place tonight.

It is the first time an official 'vote of no confidence' meeting has been called at the Town Hall.

The Nuneaton News reported that Councillor Kris Wilson, the leader of the opposing Conservative, called for the extraordinary meeting as he claims that Labour has denied residents' the chance to have their say in Local Government Reform plans. Cllr Wilson said that, as a result, a vote of no confidence in the council leader, Cllr Chris Watkins, should be debated.

This is because the local Labour group was the only one at the Town Hall which thinks the planned local elections this May should be delayed.
