Quality and courtesy are a winning combo

CASSIDY’S KITCHEN DESERVES ITS RAVE REVIEWS

I LOVE getting recommendations for reviews (please keep them coming), and even if it takes me a while to get there, I eventually make it.

A small neighbourhood cafe/takeaway in Hucknall has been on my radar for months. Word of mouth recommendations sing its praises, and online reviews have all the right buzzwords... divine, top-tier and high standard.

The place in question is Cassidy's Kitchen, in Watnall Road on the outskirts of the town. With plenty of street parking, virtually outside the door, it couldn’t be more accessible.

Queues, I'm told, are a regular feature, but I struck it lucky with just one woman in front of me at the counter and a couple of other customers waiting for orders.

It’s a typical cafe menu with breakfasts, cobs, toasties, pasta and salad boxes, ciabattas, wraps and chips with burritos thrown in for good measure.

A hot roast pork cob took my fancy, but my heart sank when I was told they'd temporarily run out after a big order that morning.
