The new Boyes store which replaced Wilko in Lower Parliament Street, Nottingham

NOTTINGHAM'S former Wilko has been turned into a Boyes store and it promises to bring value and variety to the city centre.

Yesterday the latest branch of the family-owned chain opened in the Lower Parliament Street, which has been empty since Wilko closed in the autumn of 2023.

The Scarborough-based business, which has 11 other shops across Nottinghamshire, says the new store will stock more than 35,000 items.

That includes household essentials, clothing, Christmas decorations, confectionery, DIY, pet food and toys.

After all, if you can't find an item at Boyes, "you won't find it in any store," jokes the company's managing director, Richard Boyes.
