Concerns raised over proposals for travellers’ pitches at rural site

The scheme for two pitches and day rooms has been downscaled from a withdrawn plan for four pitches which received a number of objections.

Planning documents to North Devon Council state the new proposal enables a lower intensity form of development with substantially greater onsite amenity provision in line with planning policy. This includes a designated communal play and recreation area for children, enhanced soft landscaping and improved spacing between pitches.
