A ROGUE trader has been fined after charging a homeowner thousands of pounds for work they did not need.

The rogue trader convinced the homeowner they “probably needed a new roof,” before charging £4,350 for work that was either unnecessary or completed to a poor standard.
Douggie Whitbread has been fined more than £6,000 for misleading the resident into paying for unnecessary roofing work. The 25-year-old charged the owner of the property on Griffiths Street, Ystrad Mynach, £4,350 for the work they did not need.
