STRICTLY Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has reflected on her decision to let a filming team follow her journey following cancer diagnosis.

The professional dancer from Caerphilly took to Instagram to express her feelings after her BBC documentary, Strictly Amy: Cancer and Me, was nominated for the National TV Awards (NTA).

The dancing star said it had been a “tough decision” to let a film crew document her “raw emotion”.

On her social media platform, she wrote: “I still cannot believe my BBC documentary Strictly Amy: Cancer and Me has made the long list of [NTA] nominations.

“It was a tough decision letting the cameras in and filming the raw emotion of what it is like to be dealt with a cancer diagnosis, following me every step of the way.

“But, even through all the challenges I find myself feeling extremely proud.
