Ideal stage for boss to bury back to back woes

THIS month marks a year since Erik ten Hag was sacked as Manchester United boss. Next month will see Ruben Amorim bring up his first anniversary in charge at Old Trafford.

It will provide inevitable comparisons between the pair as United seek to reestablish themselves as a European contender in the Premier League.

Ten Hag departed after a defeat at West Ham on October 28, with Amorim installed a few weeks later.

The Portuguese head coach endured a difficult debut campaign with United's dismal domestic form meaning they finished 15th in the Premier League and hopes of Europa League glory and a return to the Champions League were dashed by a defeat to Tottenham in the final.
