UNITED are down to the bare bones in terms of defensive options as a crucial Premier League clash with Liverpool looms.

In his defence, Ten Hag is not spoilt for choice in selecting a starting XI as injuries ravage side

The Red Devils have twice thrown away points from winning positions in the past week after first being pegged back late on against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium in a 1-1 draw on Wednesday.

What followed was a seven-goal thriller at Stamford Bridge with former City man Cole Palmer netting two late goals to sink United once more. Manager Erik ten Hag cited a lack of 'game management' as his side posted a 17th defeat in all competitions this season, with three more injury concerns veering their ugly head in the capital.

Here, M.E.N. Sport rounds up his options ahead of the visit of Jurgen Klopp's men this afternoon.
