Tickled pink to be running for cancer cause

HUNDREDS of people ran laps of the famous Aintree Racecourse yesterday morning to raise money for a charity close to their hearts.

Runners took to the course to complete either a 5K or 10K race as part of the Race for Life event that took place to raise money for Cancer Research UK which raises money for vital cancer research all around the UK.

The race involved laps around the world famous circuit with one lap for the 5k and two laps for the 10k.

For some people taking part, the race is close to their hearts.

Mother and daughter Ashley and Donna were among those taking part.

Ashley told the ECHO: “I raced for my partner’s mum who unfortunately died in 2020 of cancer.”

Donna said: “I raced for my mother-in-law and friend, who is living through cancer at the moment, called Ann.
