A LIVERPOOL park has undergone a beautiful transformation just in time for summer.

Wavertree Playground was given to Liverpool Corporation in 1895 by an anonymous well-wisher - the reason why it is affectionately known as The Mystery.
Later, it was discovered that the mystery donor was shipping tycoon Philip H. Holt.
