Jupiter Des Bordes ready to rule at Haydock

JUPITER Des Bordes scored a first British win at Warwick earlier in the month and can double up in Haydock’s Betfred Last Fling Handicap Chase.

Previously trained in France, he is now with Richard Hobson and it has taken a while to work out his need for a staying trip, starting out over two and a half miles before eventually finding the winning groove when upped to three miles.

While he was only a head in front of House Of Habsburg that day, the runner-up gave a big boost to the form when subsequently hacking up by 20 lengths and the relatively unexposed Jupiter Des Bordes was upped 9Ib for the win.

He is technically 4lb wrong here and the extra half-mile is an unknown, but he was certainly not stopping last time and could have more to give.
