THE agent of Dominik Szoboszlai says the Liverpool star’s camp are unconcerned about the prospect of £116m Florian Wirtz increasing competition for places in Arne Slot’s midfield.

- By PAUL GORST

And Matyas Esterhazy, who also represents new goalkeeper Armin Pecsi, has outlined the club’s plan for the £1.5m arrival, saying the youngster will benefit from the training in an elite environment on Merseyside.

Wirtz was signed from Bayer Leverkusen earlier this month when the club struck a record deal worth an initial £100m with a further £16m in success-based add-ons and the 22-year-old is expected to feature in the most advanced of Slot’s three-man midfield positions, which is a role Szoboszlai played for the majority of the 24/25 term as the Reds won the Premier League.

Esterhazy, whose work helped seal a £60m move for Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig two years ago, says the Hungary captain and his entourage aren’t worried about a big-spending summer at Anfield, saying it is to be expected for a club who are looking to retain their title.

“I haven’t thought ahead about Dominik's career for quite a long time,” Esterhazy told M4 Sport.

“He almost reached the point of being a key member of the team that won the Premier League. The club is working on very significant developments, it wants to be more and more successful, and to be a part of it is fantastic.
