THE people of Woolton are well accustomed to tourists, due to the leafy suburb being intertwined with The Beatles' history.

However, thanks to an ambitious cinematic event series on the Fab Four, it is once again being “put on the map”, according to the people living there. The series of films is slated to be released in 2028 and will star Paul Mescal as Sir Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Sir Ringo Starr, Harris Dickinson as the late John Lennon, and Joseph Quinn as the late George Harrison.

Sir Sam Mendes is directing all four biopics based on the lives of the Liverpool band that transformed the world. Filming is currently underway, and yesterday Menlove Avenue took centre stage.
