Dramas, mockumentaries and thrillers to while away the cosy evenings

- LYNN RUSK

FROM Celebrity Traitors to The Death Of Bunny Munro, these are the big TV releases to have on your radar over the next few months.

As we venture into the autumn months, it's nice to look forward to cosy evenings in front of the television.

While we're still dreaming of summer nights, it's comforting to know there's a whole host of exciting new dramas to enjoy this fall and in the run-up to Christmas.

From sexy thrillers and gripping true-crime stories to laugh-out-loud comedies, we've rounded up some of the best TV shows to watch.

THE PAPER

Fans of The Office have a new comedy to look forward to. The Paper, a spin-off-style mockumentary series, stars Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson alongside The White Lotus season two's Sabrina Impacciatore.

Set at the struggling Midwestern newspaper The Toledo Truth Teller, the series follows the everyday lives of its eccentric office staff. Gleeson plays Ned Sampson, the optimistic, if slightly delusional, new editor-in-chief determined to revive the paper's fortunes with the help of a ragtag crew of volunteer journalists.

The show is co-written, created, and produced by Greg Daniels, who adapted the UK version of The Office for American audiences in 2005, and Michael Koman, best known for Nathan For You.

The Paper premieres on Sky Max and the streaming service NOW on September 5.

TASK

Created by Mare Of Easttown writer Brad Ingelsby, Task is a gritty crime drama set in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia.

Emmy Award-winner Mark Ruffalo stars as a troubled FBI agent investigating a string of violent robberies carried out by an unassuming family man, played by Tom Pelphrey.
