Dog finds drugs hidden in field near former home of High Kings
GARDAI are quizzing a suspected key member of a west of Ireland crime outfit after detectives made a major drugs seizure in Co Meath.
We have learned that the criminal, suspected of being linked to an infamous drugs gang, was arrested overnight in an operation near the historic Hill of Tara - home to the High Kings of Ireland for centuries and located around 7km north of Dunshaughlin.
It's understood the man was arrested in an operation by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau. Sources tell us the cannabis was seized in a field and was found with the assistance of a specially trained drugs recovery dog.
