Charlie beats club record which stood for 43 years

GLOUCESTER AC's Charlie Worsfold travelled to the Great Manchester Run and broke a club record which has stood since 1982.

Worsfold recently set a club record at the Bourton 10k in February and went in search of another, achieving a time of 72.05, beating Andy Frapwell’s 43-year-old performance by 45 seconds.

Running fairly evenly paced with a cadence around the 180 mark, he finished sixth in the race and first under-20.

The annual Masters international between England and Wales was incorporated into the Shrewsbury 5K Festival and saw Gloucester AC’s Richard de-Camps making his England debut in the M35 category.

The fifth race of the day saw 70 of the top Masters from England and Wales compete for national bragging rights and de-Camps settled into the chase pack of five as they battled for second place.
