MAN ADMITS TO STEALING MONEY FROM 'TRUSTING AND BETRAYED' 'GRANDMA DIAGNOSED WITH CHRONIC HEART FAILURE
A WOMAN in her nineties says she has been left heartbroken after being betrayed by her driver. Joan Kimberley is a beloved mum and grandma, who has been left anxious and stressed after discovering her driver, Stephen Ellis, better known as Sam, was stealing from her.
In a statement shared with Lincolnshire Live, the 94-year-old said: "For 16 years, I trusted Sam Ellis, initially as my hospital driver which then developed, as I thought, into a close friend.
"However, when I observed him on CCTV footage stealing money from me I never imagined that he would betray me in such a way.
"To discover that he had been stealing money from me has left me feeling heartbroken and deeply betrayed. I have felt a great deal of fear and anxiety and I no longer feel safe in my own home."
Her son, Paul Kimberley, explained that they had only had CCTV installed for a few days when they discovered Sam, of Woodhall Spa, was stealing from Joan.
