Young curlers put foes on ice with major win

Queens Captain Matty Douglas believes they can use the performance in their Scottish Cup defeat to Championship side Dunfermline as a springboard to kick on in the league.

He said: "Dunfermline are a very good team. They're in the playoffs in the Championship for a reason, and we've come here and we've more than matched them.

"I think we can take a bit of pride out of that, but it's still annoying that we maybe haven't taken it to extra time.

"But we've bounced back from last week's disappointment at Inverness, that performance wasn't acceptable, so hopefully we can take this into the league now and put a good run together."

"We can take massive confidence. The Gaffer wanted a massive reaction from us, and I think to a man, compared to last week where we were nowhere near it, I think every single one of us has put a shift in and I thought we were excellent, but it's just the way it goes."
