Local side into the next round of Potts Cup after outbattling Mid Annandale

Lochar safely progressed into the next round of the Potts Cup where they will entertain Stranraer Reserves in the quarter final after a comprehensive 6-2 victory over Mid Annandale at Lockerbie on Saturday.

Greig Corbett came in to the starting line up at New King Edward Park at the expense of Rhilay Walls with Cammy Shaw back from injury to take a seat on the bench.

In an entertaining opening, Lochar forced a couple of corners that were safely cleared. It was Mids who opened the scoring on 6 minutes when Harvey Craig gave away a needless free kick.

Luke Hammond stepped up to clinically curl an effort into the top corner in off the bar and out of Konar Pietsch’s reach.

Lochar responded within a minute when Finlay Kennedy’s corner was knocked goal wards by Kyle Braid where Scott Milligan was in hand to swivel and finish from inside the six yard box.
