Animal charity plea to residents

A charity which takes in and rehomes the region's strays, abandoned and unwanted dogs has said its cupboards are bare.

Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre at Dovecotwells, Glencaple, made a passionate appeal for help this week-warning “our dog food supply is running dangerously low”.

And the charity is urging residents and businesses to dig deep and help out.

It posted an appeal on its social meda site with one of the dog in it care, Gracie, pictured checking out the feed store - and giving her best “please help” look.
