ASHFORD & District Road Running Club's George Hinkley took second place overall on a balmy and muggy evening at the Ashford Striders Charing 10k on Friday, June 13.

This ever-popular race takes in the quiet, pretty lanes from Charing to Westwell, with a demon hill and a technical trail section along the North Downs Way thrown in to give the perfect mix of challenge and enjoyment.
First home amongst a sea of turquoise club vests was Hinkley, who crossed the line in an amazing 37:37 taking the silver medal for second place overall.
In hot pursuit was Richard Boakes finishing in sixth place overall in 38:50.
