A WORLD-leading University of Derby academic has won a national education award, recognising his commitment to mentoring the next generation of marine scientists.

Professor Michael Sweet, who heads the university's aquatic research facility, scooped the title of outstanding research Supervisor of the Year’ at the ‘Oscars of higher education’ - the Times Higher Education Awards.
