Emotions ran high when the soppy pair reunited for the Rocket Man’s annual Oscars viewing party.
Chappell, who Elton has championed from the beginning, was the guest of honour at Sunday's star-studded fundraiser for his Aids foundation.
The singer took to the stage in West Hollywood Park and persuaded her idol and biggest supporter to join her.
