Thrills and spills await as EFL kicks-off again

FOOTBALL returns tonight as Luton and Wimbledon meet in the League One opener having both gone in different directions last season.

The Hatters followed up their Premier League exit with a successive drop down the divisions from the Championship, while Wimbledon edged out Walsall in the League Two play-off final at Wembley.

Now the two sides meet in the third tier for the first time since 2019, when Luton made a brief stop-off in League One on their remarkable rise up the divisions.

But after becoming only the fourth side to suffer consecutive relegations from the Premier League, expectations are high at Kenilworth Road that the Hatters, who are the bookies' favourites for the title, can bounce straight back.
