Preston sowing seeds of success in pitch for promotion

PRESTON have been discussing grass again - but it has nothing to do with Snoop Dogg.

Boss Paul Heckingbottom quipped there was a whiff of weed when Swansea's co-owning rap royalty (right) took centre stage for the midweek draw in South Wales.

North End are in danger of making a hash of their top-six tilt thanks to a disappointing run of one win in nine and a single victory at Deepdale since New Year's Day. That has left them five points adrift of the playoffs.

After a wet winter, much of that has been put down to the sorry state of the playing surface, with chief executive Peter Ridsdale labelling it an embarrassment.
