US stadium in security fund threat

FOXBOROUGH town chiefs have sensationally threatened to pull the plug on Scotland's two World Cup games at their Gillette Stadium unless they receive £5.65million worth of funding for security costs.

Scotland will play their opening two games against Haiti and Morocco in the Massachusetts town, about 20 miles south of Boston.

But a huge row over who will foot the huge costs for security across the seven games the Gillette Stadium will host has broken out in the States.

Foxborough Select Board Chair Bill Yukna insisted they will refuse to grant an entertainment licence for the games unless the matter is resolved in the coming weeks, with a deadline of the middle of March set.
