Neil heads to Tayside in pursuit of happiness after blows at Barnsley

NEIL FARRUGIA is adamant joining Dundee United can get him back enjoying his football again.

The versatile defender has penned a two-and-a-half year deal after leaving Barnsley to become United’ first signing of the winter window.

Farrugia admitted he lost a bit of love for the game because of his lack of first-team action at Oakwell after swapping Shamrock Rovers for the Tykes last January.

Now he’ looking to revive it under Jim Goodwin at Tannadice.

The 26-year-old said: “When I first joined Barnsley I struggled a bit because I’d done the whole season in the League of Ireland, which is right through summer, then played in the European games as well.
