Devlin hopes a return to his favourite slot can get him back to best

NICKY DEVLIN wants to get right-back to the form that helped him win Scotland caps.

The Aberdeen star hopes he can hit the heights again after finally being restored to his preferred position.

Devlin broke into the international team back in 2024 but in recent seasons has played in a number of different roles.

When Jimmy Thelin brought in Alexander Jensen, Devlin played out of position at centre-half or left-back.

Interim Dons boss Peter Leven has restored him to right-back and the 32-year-old believes it has helped him get back towards his peak form.

He said: “Yes, that's the level I want to get back to. It will be difficult as we were on an unbelievable run at the time as well.

“They do go together. Individually you have to be playing well but the team has to also be doing really well.

“If I am playing better hopefully the team is winning games.”
