Cap return v Greeks can send old mate Craig all the way to USA says Paul
PAUL HARTLEY knows Craig Gordon will not only want to add to his Scotland caps but also be on the plane to the World Cup finals.
The 42-year-old hasn't played a competitive first-team game for Hearts this season but has been called up by Steve Clarke to help solve his goalkeeping SOS.
Gordon looks favourite to start in tonight's crucial World Cup qualifier in Greece and the finale against fellow leaders Denmark on Tuesday.
"It looks like he is going to play," Hartley said. "He has the experience and is a big game player. They are two massive games for the country.
"We want to qualify for the World Cup and if we did qualify it wouldn't surprise me if Craig was on that plane to go to America, Canada and Mexico."
Gordon, who missed out on Euro 2024, has 81 Scotland caps.
If he does get the nod it would be his first international start since the 3-0 loss to Greece in March. He did, however, keep a clean sheet in the away game.
