Youngster defies the odds in male dominated sport

Calm Khloe is inspired by multiple F1 champion Lewis Hamilton

A GIRL of 10 is on track to follow in the tyre tracks of her motorsport heroes after being accepted to a Formula 1 academy.

Khloe McGill, from Bo'ness in West Lothian, started competing in the male-dominated sport when she was just six.

With F1 champion Lewis Hamilton serving as her "biggest inspiration", the youngster - who got her first Go Kart for Christmas aged four - has progressed through the ranks, regularly competing as the only girl in grids full of boys.

This season, she finished seventh in the British championships and has now been accepted to race in a three-day F1 academy series in Abu Dhabi next week.
