Travelers suits after Oakmont scrap

RORY MCILROY reckons the birdie opportunities at this week's Travelers is the “perfect chaser” to the rough and tumble of last week's brutal US Open.

McIlroy tees up in the final PGA Tour signature event of the year today having suffered, along with numerous others, the gruesome test at Oakmont.

The more forgiving track at TPC River Highlands in Connecticut offers a chance to continue momentum built on that final day when he went under par for the first time in the week.
