We need harmony on and off field says Bren

- BY RYAN MCDONALD

THERE'S no such thing as a quiet international break in the world of Scottish football - or indeed Celtic.

Across the city, there's more upheaval after Russell Martin was handed his jotters and crisis-hit Rangers launched yet another managerial hunt.

One minute Steven Gerrard was in the running. The next he was out and Kevin Muscat now looks poised to take over.

The comical nature of Rangers’ recruitment process has given Hoops fans plenty to laugh about in the absence of club football.

But there's still a storm brewing at Parkhead as tensions escalate between supporters and the boardroom.

A summit between the under-fire hierarchy and the Celtic Fan Collective failed to see peace break out with CEO Michael Nicholson and finance chief Chris McKay accused of lacking “awareness, humility and accountability” after talks collapsed.

That's seen the activists represented by the Green Brigade, Bhoys Celtic and Celtic Trust-launch a new anti-board campaign urging supporters to boycott the club's merchandise and matchday catering as they push for change at the top.

Rodgers admits he was unaware of the latest plan of action from the Collective and hopes a resolution can be found quickly after months of unrest.
